This past month at Gramercy Surgery Center, Inc., we celebrated a big milestone for two of our team members: Antony Chang (our Director of IT) and Samer (our Materials Managers) both became American citizens! This is a process that took many, many years and we are so happy that they both decided to seek out opportunity in the USA.
For those who don’t think too much about this topic: in 2019, 17.4% of our country’s labor force was foreign-born. Nearly HALF of Fortune 500 companies were founded either by immigrants or their first-generation children (much like our company!). These Americans deal with the difficulties of everyday life all while navigating the convoluted citizenship process.
I am happy to say that we do our best to foster a company culture that does not shy away from the complex immigration/labor rules and we are so happy to see two of our team members’ dedication to the process paying off after all these years! Congratulations and looking forward to chasing down the American Dream with you both! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
