The Importance of Clinical Documentation In Service At Gramercy Surgery Center

Thank you to Ruth Corcoran from Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP for speaking to our Queens clinical team last week about the importance of medical documentation from the legal perspective!

As we all know, EMRs have been a blessing in terms of efficiency and technical capabilities but it has also exposed providers to some dangers and pitfalls. Hats off to our Gramercy Surgery Center Queens Nurse Manager who organized this training so that our RNs have a well-rounded understanding of the entire perioperative surgical experience—including medical documentation. Great initiative!

For those leading a clinical team, I would highly recommend adding a legal or medical documentation-specific in-service if it’s not already part of the training rotation. From the level of interaction we saw, I think this was highly informative. Thanks again, KBR!
