James Kelly, MD, The First To Operate With Gramercy’s New Zeiss Lumera 700 Microscope!

Congratulations to Gramercy’s very own Dr. James Kelly who was the first to operate with our new Zeiss Lumera 700 microscope with power tilt. Not only is Dr. Kelly the first ophthalmologist at Gramercy Surgery Center to operate with the new microscope, he is the first in New York City to operate using the Lumera 700 microscope with power tilt capabilities!  In addition to being on staff at GSC, Dr. Kelly is a board-certified laser eye surgeon and a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Kelly is also an academic mentor for the International School of Optometry in Puerto Rico and a clinical instructor for Alcon Surgical for which he certifies other surgeons on various lasers and techniques.  This transition between our old microscope to the new microscope would not have been possible without a proficient surgeon and a well-trained clinical team.  Thank you to Dr. Kelly, Alcon, Zeiss, and the Gramercy ophthalmic team for making this smooth transition possible!
