Something that we strive to do at Gramercy Surgery Center is to create a culture where team members at all levels are comfortable coming forward with comments and suggestions—no matter how big or little, good or bad! For us, this starts when our organization’s leaders value everybody’s input and empower each individual to be responsible for the performance of the whole team.
Luke, one of our multispecialty perioperative nurses, gave a small suggestion to senior management that new scrubs with our company logo would give us a more organized look while really boosting the team morale. Since pulling the trigger on new scrubs, we’ve received nothing but compliments from staff, patients, and surgeons. Thanks for the suggestion Luke, sorry it took so long to implement!
